Generations (For Karen)

This painting is a gift for my sister. I started it as I needed to take a break from a heavier piece I have been working on about gun violence. It was a joyful reprieve, and refers to a funny story about a chair once owned by my great, great grandmother. The child in the image is my daughter. The greens, yellows and blues gave me a sense of upliftment, which is the same feeling I feel when I look at her.
